Rappers Making Chart Music [POP] TheRealHustle?

Rap music listeners are very vocal when it comes to their opinions of artists they listen to making 'softer' chart friendly music. This considered by the critical rap fan as dumbing down and taking the easy route ,''selling out''' to make a quick a cheque.

But just how easy is it to make a chart hit ?,Shouldn't rappers be credited and applauded for their business acumen to make and sell a product to an audience that is alien to them ?

Sure the majority of chart hits are usually shoved down the ears and throats of listeners with constant radio rotation and plugs from the big players at the record labels but isn't a bad song just a bad song  regardless of how many times you are 'forced' to listen to it ? Are the buyers of pop music that 'fical', kids with more money than sense ?

Our take on this debate is this, lets look at this way, if the roles were reversed ,an artist that has built there career on chart friendly music decided he (female artists 'turn bad' already so nothing new there) didn't want to make as much money from music any more and wanted to get 'respect' and 'love' (rap fans have that to offer in abundance ) would that artist be able to make a rap song and appeal to the rap audience as rappers do to a pop audience ?

Just how hard is it to appeal to a specific audience ?
